Edinburgh Cannons Secure Third Consecutive SNBL AAA Title

The Edinburgh Cannons have once again proven their dominance, clinching the Scottish National Baseball League (SNBL) championship for the third consecutive year. Throughout the season, the Cannons have solidified their position as a premier team in Scottish baseball, showcasing their skill, teamwork, and unwavering determination.

The Cannons’ victory in the 2024 SNBL championship marks a historic moment in the league's history. Led by head coach Ruari Dunn, the Cannons have displayed remarkable resilience, overcoming formidable opponents and the always-challenging Scottish weather conditions to secure the top spot in the upcoming Caledonian Classic for the third straight year.

As dominant as the team has been during the last few regular seasons, however, the title of National Champion remains elusive. In 2023, the Cannons fell to the Tayport Breakers (current back to back National Champions) in the Caledonia Classic final.

That said, the Cannons league-clinching win was a resounding victory at home against Tayport last week (check out the game with live commentary from Ewan Spence) and they have defeated Tayport twice already this season.

The AAA playoffs are scheduled to start 1 Sept with the Cannons set to host one of the semi-final matches in Edinburgh. The rest of the playoff field remains to be set, with only three weeks left in the regular season.
